Black Sails At Midnight: El Nuevo Album de Alestorm

Atención fanáticos de Alestorm!!!

Dentro de 2 meses, la banda escocesa publicará su segundo álbum de estudio el cual llevará por título "Black Sails At Midnight". Las fechas de lanzamiento serán:

27 de Mayo - Finlandia y España
29 de Mayo - Alemania, Austria, Suiza, Benelux, Francia, Italia
01 de Junio - Resto de Europa
02 de Junio - EE.UU. y Canadá

El álbum estará disponible en una edición estándar y también en edición limitada en digipack, el cual contendrá un DVD con la actuación de la banda en Wacken Open Air 2008.

Notas Adicionales:

* Son altamente conocidos por sus canciones basadas en historias de piratas.

* La banda describe su estilo como "True Scottish Pirate Metal"

* Graham Motion (R.I.P. 23 de Julio del 2006) murió ahogado luego de caer por un puente

* La mayor parte de los miembros pasados no permanecieron con la banda durante un largo periodo de tiempo

* El grupo fue formado en Perth (Escocia) en el año 2004 con el nombre de "Battleheart"

* Originalmente la banda comenzó como proyecto de dos hombres: Gavin Harper (guitarra) y Christopher Bowes (teclados y voz). Así, Battleheart registró su primer "EP homónimo" independiente el cual fue lanzado el día 15 de abril del 2006.

* Editaron un segundo EP ("Terror on the High Seas") el mismo año (14 de Octubre) y producido por Gavin Harper. Dani Evans (bajo) fue integrado a la formación. La percusión fue programada nuevamente. Aquí se hizo mención al ya tan conocido Capitán Morgan en el tema instrumental "The Curse of Captain Morgan"

* En el 2006, Dani Evans se convirtió en el segundo guitarrista de la banda, pero tomó su antiguo lugar como bajista luego de que Jason Heeny hubiera dejado Alestorm en el mismo año.

* Después de ganar algo de éxito con el nombre de Battleheart, la banda logró un contrato con el sello discográfico Napalm Records a mediados del 2007. Debido a una semejanza de nombre con Battlelore (una banda que ya había firmado con la discográfica) tuvieron que cambiar nombre al grupo. El día 8 de agosto del 2007, su nombre fue cambiado oficialmente a Alestorm.

* Su álbum debut, "Captain Morgan's Revenge" fue lanzado el 25 de enero del 2008 con Micha Wagner como baterista de sesión.

* El 24 de abril del 2008 lanzaron el single "Heavy Metal Pirates", una re-grabación de un tema de Battleheart registrado en la misma sesión del álbum "Captain Morgan's Revenge". Ian Wilson dejó Alestorm en junio de ese año. El alemán Alex Tabisz lo reemplazó.
